The role
The senior analysis is an experienced modeller who is capable of undertaking some of the roles of project management, and is capable of running day-to-day client contact if required
Role objectives and aims
With the support of Analysts and Associate Analysts and under the guidance and leadership of senior team members, objectives of the role will be to:
1. Provide high quality, timely, scientific/strategic solutions to meet client needs
2. Conduct and analyse primary and secondary research, which will shape the development of strategic recommendations
3. Design, build, check and present health economic models, using appropriate software tools, to elucidate and express the economic value of clients’ products
4. Operate as the lead HEMU analyst on projects managed by HEMU or by other business units
5. Act as day-to-day client liaison when deemed appropriate by senior colleagues
6. Present to clients on elements of work which you have been responsible for
7. Undertake some or all of the responsibilities of project management under the supervision of a senior colleague
8. Systematically search for and synthesise disparate qualitative and quantitative health economic evidence, and interpret meaningfully
9. Write, refine, review and critique sections of reports, journal manuscripts and other deliverables for client or external delivery
10. Foster business development and contribute to the development and/or writing of proposals for new work
11. Develop a record of publications/presentations in a specialism relevant to the unit
Qualifications You will have experience of designing and building health economics models (cost-effectiveness or budget impact models), sourcing data inputs and contributing to writing a technical report
Qualifications:
Essential: 2:1 or above first university degree in numerate discipline
Highly desirable: Postgraduate qualification (PhD/MPhil/MRes/MSc) in health economics, medical statistics, epidemiology, public health, mathematical modelling or related subjects
A high degree of written accuracy and attention to detail
Experience of designing and delivering high quality modelling work in health economics/outcomes research
Communication skills, especially in relaying technical information
Self-motivation, ambition and flexibility
Project/time management within a team
Commercial awareness
A record of providing excellent customer service and fostering business development
Strong computing skills: MS Office and software related to health economic modelling (eg Stata, R, WinBUGS, VBA)
